In order to reward my buns being so hardworking recently, i decided to buy a toy for them which, had two important functions. Firstly, my buns can HIDE inside the toy and secondly, to let them satisfy their destructive behaviour, CHEWING.

I received a very sad news yesterday from one of my rabbit lover fren who loss her beloved bun named Shiro (http://thefluffies.wordpress.com). i can not help myself to feel sad and depress when i remembered i first lost my bunny as well. Her name is Guinness. She left me in May 2007 and i still missed her very much. Guinness will always my be my sweetheart and i know that she is accompanied by many sweet bunnies and Shiro will definately be one of them.

After 3 year ++..........bathing !!

3 years ago, i sent my buns for bathing and grooming which resulted in my Coco got stress up and did not eat for 2-3 days. In actual fact, it is generally not advisable to bath bunny as they easily get scare and stressed up. After that incident, i dare not bath my buns anymore. Having said that, i do on and off brush and comb my buns by using the furminator. However, i decided to "clean" my Coco and June when i noticed a lot of matted fur was formed as a result of their constant grooming. Further, there are also stubborn stain that stuck at the fur near their butt which i think is not so good for their skin.

This buns cleaning session actually took me about one hour plus to complete. I did not actually bath my Coco and June cos both of them actually got a bit stress up when i put them in the bath room. Since my Coco and June are going through heavy molting, i used furminator to brush out all those excessive fur and for those matted fur, i either plucked it out using my hand or trimed it by using scissor. Lastly, i use my wet hand to stroke their whole body for a final cleaning. So, below are some of their pictures that i took after accomplishing the buns "bathing" mission....

Recently, i get to know a lady name Julie Tan who is a bunny lover like me. I am so grateful to know her because we share a lot pertaining to bunny during our online chat. 1st National Rabbit Show

Finally, i managed to share about the 1st National Rabbit Show held at Mid Valley on 4/7/09. I was very happy to be one of the committee members to help up in organising the show. Besides, i am glad to meet up all my rabbit forum fren on that day and some of them did give a helping hand for the show namely nicoty_yne, jannu98 and bf, bebee and bf, rsf, fyire and of course, all the credit definately goes to Beh and Yo who were actually the main person behind this show.

Well, at the end of the show, everyone was so tired but i believed we learn a lot and of course, the chief purpose of organising such a show is to create awareness of the public to know and learn more about rabbit as a pet. Generally, there were 4 categories of rabbit that participated in the show which was the Holand Lop, Netheland Dwarf, Dwarf Hotot and the Fancy Group (mix breed bunny with costume). Just to inform that my Coco finally ate the pellets, munched the hay and drink water. There is nothing more happier than we as a rabbit owner to see our sweety pee and poo.........in fact to see them poo and pee A LOT cos these are the good indications of their health. I want to thank the breeder who i called up, for his advise and the Oxbow critical care that he introduced, it did help my Coco to regain his appetide and of course, i talk to Coco a lot, i feed him yogurt, pineapple juice and water which i think it helped too..........

My Coco is not doing well since Monday afternoon. He ate so little and of course poo and pee very little as well. Coco seems no mood at all, very quiet and just chilled inside the fiddle stick. I am not sure what was the reason and he makes me worried. I called up one of a very experience local breeders and he advised me to pump in some yogurt or pinapple juice in order to stimulate his appetite. He also advised me to try out the oxbow critical care if it is necessary ..........

i had tried all the abovementioned methods and the breeder said that Coco might needs sometimes to regain his appetite, most probably after two or three days......so i hope to see my darling boy start eating by today onwards. Please keep my baby boy in prayer, thanks........

I had posted this topic at one of the rabbit forum sometime ago and for the benefit of those who read my blog, i would like to share my buns housing........as far as i am concern, i found that this is one of the best cages that can be provided for yr bun, it was expensive indeed, but it can gives u the following advantages:

1. Bunny love to spray at the edge of the cage, thus this cage can prevent their pee from leaking out.

2. Spacious and can be used throughout the life span of a bunny.

3. A solid plastic mate with hole that is big enough to let bun's pee and poo falls into the tray fixed below the cage. Due to the separation, bun's little feets will not have direct contact on it which can prevent them from getting sore hocks or any skin infection.

4. The cage can be dismantled and make yr cleaning job become very easy.

Coco droppy ear

My Coco is a lop ear rabbit which mean, his ear drops. Coco's ear is not like the other rabbit which stand up like a pair of big antena on top of their head, and of course, his droppy ear make him unique and adorable. However, Coco sometime manage to control his ear toward different direction, sometime to the front, sometime backward and sometime, his ear can even goes to opposite direction........what ? true or not ? well, just see the following photos !

It has been such a long time that i did not post up any update on my buns. Well, i am actually busying for my new hse and finally settled down last saturday. Initially, i am a bit worry that my buns might not get use to the new environment but thank God that they are doing ok. I always believe that being alone is definately not a good idea. That is why i brought June for Coco and hope that they enjoy the companionship of each other. I was quite happy that they turned out to be a good couple, there is no fighting between them and i always notice that both of them love to stick with each other, most of the time, Coco is the one who always look for June, groom her and demands for her grooming as well. Apple

Apple is one of my two sweeties favourite fruits. I normally let them eat half to one apple each week and both of them react very differently when they saw me holding apple.

My buck, Coco will normally sniff at the apple in my hand and wait patiently for me to put it in front of him, then, he will slowly enjoys the apple....... he will eats and stops for a while, and eats and stops again until he finishes the apple. That is why Coco will sometime takes half an hour to one hour just to finish a quarter of apple..........But, my doe June, is very different, she is very brave and dare to snatch away the apple from my palm, run to her favourite spot (one corner in the cage) and enjoy the apple, she normally will finishes the apple in one go........

I do not have the chance to take June photo with her apple but Coco, i managed to snap a few and what a cute little fellow he is when he tries to guard over his apple..........

Dead Bunny Flop

Dead Bunny Flop (DBF) ??? what is that ??? Yap, for bunny owner, i believe they definately have come across this term and despite of the word 'Dead', DBF carries a very positive meaning to me cos i will be very very very and very happy to see my bunnies 'perform' DBF.

Ok, what exactly is DBF ? As far as i am concern, it is simple, since there is a word 'Dead', it must be something related to dead, wah.....sound scary......well, for those who do not know what it means, DBF is just simply means a bunny sleep like as if it is dead already.......

Yes, for those who do not know, you will definately get so shocked and thought that this bunny must has died already, but wait a moment, if bunny performs DBF, it shows that they are actually the happiest and most relax bun in this earth........now you know why i mentioned DBF is actually a very positive term to me.......

So, if you never seen DBF before, i can share my Coco DBF's photos ......

Bunny's butt

As a bunny owner, i obviously take a lot of my bunnies photos like what other bunny owners do. Of course, taking bunny's photo is not as easy as i think, bunny in general, does not like to be approached closely which is due to the fact that they are born to be a prey, their pair of big ear is highly sensitive even to the softest sound and be able to turn 360 degree (fren, don't be surprise, i am not joking.........) in order for them to escape fast from their predator........so my point is, taking bunny's front shot is more difficult compare to their butt's shot cos they will either hoop away or ....try to sniff at your camera to see whether it is something chewable or not. so, this has ended up that i take photo behind of my buns and guess what, my buns' butt seem to look beautiful as well.............so, folks, don't just admire J.Lo butt, bunny's butt is not that bad anyway......haha

CocoJune diet plan

Besides of my Coco did sufer from a very light mange problem while he was approximately one and a half month old, both my Coco and June have so far, never fell sick for the past one and a half years. Of course, i dare not take that for granted and i really have to thank God for giving me two healthy bunnies (though some have commented that my buns look a bit skinny).

Right from the first day that i brought both my buns home, i took the breeder advise on giving my buns very simple food which is pellet, hay and water. Eventhough i have done some reading on bunny diet plan, i dare not give it a try cos i know that bunny has a highly sensitive stomach and it easily get upside down. Hence, my buns stick on the three abovementioned items for more than one year. Just a few months back, i decided to give my buns a try on treats such as carrot, apple, papaya tablet and pineapple juice and luckily, they manage to adapt it quite well and in fact, they will chase after me if they saw me holding one of those treats, well, they just love it. However, my buns do not seem to eat vege eventhough i have given them a try on siao pak chai, brocoli, mint, kangkung and etc...........i presume this is may be due to their strong habitual character which make them not simply try on other staffs..........

Below are the pictures that i would like to share pertaining to my buns' diet plan.....

1.Oxbow Pellet - Bunny Basic/T (Timorthy Hay based)

2.Oxbow Timorthy Hay and Oat Hay

3. Apple (red and green) and carrot

4. Oxbow - Papaya Tablets

5. Pinapple juice and

6. Clean water (preferably let bunny drink it directly from the bowl)

* Oxbow is one of the best brand and highly recommended rabbit foods by local breeders.

All the above items are some of the foods which is commonly cater for bunny. For me, i would want to stress more on giving bunny a lot of hay in order to prevent fur block (papaya tablets and pineapple juice can also help on this). That is why for pellet, i give my buns with timorthy hay based, that is only once in the day and i usually i feed them in the morning. For the rest of the day, i give them unlimited hay. Munching on hay can also help to prevent bunny's teeth from overgrowing. In term of item 3 and 5, it is just a treat and my bun will have it twice in a week with only small amount of it. For item 4, both my buns each have one tablet a day and .........Oh yes, before i forget, bunny does produce soft stools and they will eat it directly from their anus. These soft stools are full of nutricent and is one of the essential foods for bunny as well.

So, after a good meal, both my buns love to rest like that..............

and lastly, sufficient exercise and a lot of LOVES are equally important for the health of a bunny.

Coco and June were bonded while they were about 2 months old. I never see them fight before, not even one. May be it is because of Coco is a buck and June is a doe. Normally, same sex will tend to fight in order to show who is the boss. If it is opposite sex, i presume they will fall in love which i think it applies to Coco and June. Both my sweeties love to play with each other, chasing around, sleep together and they just love to stick together. This video was taken while they were playing in the kitchen, June was the one who try to jump over Coco and Coco was so submissive, he stayed still and just let June did whatever she liked.

To my beloved bunny, Guinness

I received a SMS last few days from one of my fren who happened to browse my "My Bunnies and I" blog. She was so curious that why i mentioned three bunnies where all this while, as far as she can remember, there was only two.

Before i started to have "My Bunnies and I" blog, i actually have in my mind that i want to bring out the stories of my three sweet bunnies. That is why i started to introduce June and Coco first and then i go back to the days that i first became a bunny owner. So......to cut the story short, Guinness managed to be with me for only one month. She was killed by a big cat (i suspect) in one of the rainy midnight. I brought Guinness to the vet a day before she was killed and i still remembered that the vet told me Guinness was perfectly healthy, she put on and her mange problem was cured. I suspect she was pulled out violently by a big cat and what she left behind for me was her blood, fur and of course sweet memory. I could not managed to find her body and of course, heart wrenching........

From there on, i always advise or suggest bunny owner to keep their bunny in house. Bunny is very sweet and adorable to me but what i forget is that they are too attractive to their predator as well. Oh.........yes, before i forget, Coco was nearly killed on that night as well, his loopy ear and front paw were scratched and bleeding, the wound mark can still be seen until now.

So, this is how June come into picture........anyway, i would like to dedicate this particular post to my sweetheart Guinness, may you RIP, mummy always loves you and mummy know that you will be happy forever just right across the rainbow bridge...

Coco and Guinness

I was actually quite stress up when i first owned these two little sweeties....... i started to join forums that can give me good advise on taking care of bunny, i also spend a lot of time to read up on the basic care for rabbit, in fact if i said that i love my bunnies from the first sight, i should give them to the best of my ability, it was more than their cute face that make me love them, love should come together with responsibility as well....that is why i try my best to learn the correct way or the best way to raise up bunny, from their diet plan to their housing, from their health care to their character and of course i fail in many ways and i am still learning now..........

I always remind myself that i am their everything, they will be absolutely helpless without me......here were some of the photos taken while both Coco and Guinness were about one month plus........

Love at first sight

I never own a pet for my past 35 years........until last year May, i was shopping at Subang Parade, this cute little felow caught my attention. His stayed quietly at one side of the cage, brown in colour and his lovely eyes were half open.......he was sleeping, i guess, his resting position was like a cute little doggie............his droppy ear made me fall in love with him, at the first sight......i never come across lop ear bunny and guess what, i decided to take (i brought him actually) him home, because of his brown fur and i decided to name him Coco........

Parent : O...my....why u brought home a handicap rabbit, can't u c that his ear is dropping?
Me : Well, his ear will forever drop and can never stand........

Though i am so sleepy, but i will still finish my pellets cos i always have a good habit of not wasting food......

Mummy want me to eat more hay so that my teeth would not overgrown.........

I shared about Coco with my BF the following day and he was so excited ........He want to have another rabbit to be Coco companion. So i went to Subang Perade again and brought home another bunny........She was an anggora bunny, black fur with a few white fur here and there, she was like Coco, never try to struggle when i hold her, so sweet and submissive, so i named her Guinness..........
